We offer multiple tools and resources to help you stay safe online and protect yourself from identity theft.

Your safety is our priority

Your credit union has taken every precaution to ensure your online transactions are secure.

  • Digital Certificate from Verisign, Inc.: ensures no other site can assume identity of our site
  • Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption
  • Multiple Firewalls: a layered security approach that protects your accounts from unauthorized access
  • Multi-Factor Authentication: a multi-layer security system that protects against phishing, spyware, and more.
  • Built-In Safeguards- In order to protect your accounts, you should always log out of Online Banking when you finish. In case you forget, Online Banking will log you out after fifteen (15) minutes of inactivity. Every time you begin a session, it asks for your User ID (which is your account number) and Password. You will need to contact Member Services at 800-268-MYCU if you are locked out your account.

Defense Edge is a fraud predictor system designed to identify fraudulent activity at an early stage. The system tracks a cardholder’s spending patterns and may contact you if/when changes in the pattern occur. If you are contacted, Defense Edge states that they are calling from Dominion and will ask you to verify recent credit or debit card activity. You will not be asked to provide your credit or debit card number, social security, or other vital information. If you receive a message from Dominion's fraud monitoring you will be asked to return a call to 800-327-8622 or 800-622-1361 for debit or 800-377-1809 for credit. You may always call Dominion Credit Union directly. If we are unable to contact you, a hold may be placed on your credit/debit account.

You may also sign up for fraud alert text messages on your credit card. Log into Online Banking, click "Account Services," "Card Alerts," and then sign up. Or click on "View My Visa" and set up text messages under "Fraud Alerts."

In order to take maximum advantage of our online security features, your browser must support 128-bit encryption. Here’s how to check:

  • Dominion Credit Union and our providers/vendors will NEVER call, text or email you asking for account or personal information. Never provide your PIN, personal information, or account number to any unsolicited website or phone call, ever.
  • Messages Sent by Email may not be secure, may be intercepted by third parties and may not be immediately received by the appropriate business unit at Dominion Credit Union. To send a secure email to the credit union, use Secure Messaging within Online and Mobile Banking. Please do not use regular email to send us communications which contain confidential information or which we require to be in writing.
  • If your ATM/debit/contactless or credit card is lost or stolen please report it immediately by calling the lost/stolen hotline.
